Job Opportunity: Coding Specialist Position in Health Information Management

Are you an experienced Facility IP coder with a background in Level II Trauma centers, adept at coding various discharge departments, and skilled in collaborating with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) teams? We are currently seeking (3) Coding Specialist candidates for a remote Health Information Management opportunity. Please note that this remote position is available in all states except CA, NY, NJ, CO, OR, and HI at this time.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately assigning ICD-10-CM diagnostic/procedure PCS codes based on clinical encounters and following regulatory and CMS Official Guidelines.
• Providing intermediate clinical inpatient support in the Health Information Management department, coding for inpatient admissions from departments including Postpartum, Newborn NICU, Cardiac ICU, and more.
• Adhering to CMS' Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and specializing in areas such as Recurring Wound Care, Inpatient Rehab, and more.
• Proficiently translating diagnostic statements and physician orders to assign ICD-10-CM diagnostic codes and abstracting data elements for accurate reporting and reimbursem*nt.
• Ensuring compliance with Health Information Management (HIM) Coding policies, AHA Official Coding Guidelines, and The Joint Commission (TJC) documentation guidelines.
• Maintaining coding certification and staying updated on ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of inpatient coding experience.
• Experience in acute care facilities and/or Trauma Level II coding preferred.
• AAPC, AHIMA, or Certified Coding credential required.

Compensation And Details

• Base Salary: USD $56,056 to $78,478
• Full-time position with full benefits.
• Relocation assistance not available.
• No commission, bonus, or overtime eligibility.
• Candidate details: 2+ to 5 years of experience, Associate level seniority, minimum education certification, no travel required, no security clearance or visa sponsorship.
